Course summary

The MA in Early Years Education is an exciting new distance-learning programme which is aimed at those currently in practice who wish to develop their specialism in the Early Years sector. This course would suit you if you are already in an established role in early years settings who wish to develop their specialism through reflecting on and enhancing current practice with other like-minded professionals.

About this course

The programme is 100% online, which means the course is flexible to fit around work commitments and also accessible to both UK and international students.

Programme delivery will be through a range of asynchronous and synchronous sessions and forums, supported by independent study and driven by active learning tasks and formative assessment activities. You will be supported by a team of specialists in early years education and care.

This two-year programme affords the opportunity for you to reflect on key aspects of early years provision, including educational policy and the role of the early years professionalism, global childhoods and the rights of the child from a social justice context.

You will complete your own research study in your area of interest, which will be carried out in your workplace setting.

The MA in Early Years education is designed to support you if you wish to enhance your current practice to support career development, for example, in managerial roles or wider areas such as policy development or consultancy.
