Dr Wahiba Toubal
Programme Leader in Mathematics
Dr Wahiba Toubal leads the undergraduate mathematics programme at Bishop Grosseteste University. She comes from a diversified STEM background reflected in the range of courses and modules she has taught in higher education. After completing her PhD in Mathematical Physics she moved into developing evidence based teaching methods and leading on educational research projects. Her current focus is pure and applied mathematics. She lectures in various undergraduate mathematics modules and supervises Level 6 mathematics dissertations.

Wahiba’s research interests include mathematics, education, outreach and widening participation. Particularly looking at how to make mathematics inclusive and accessible through curriculum content, resources and learning environment. In addition, she is currently the mathematics representative for research ethics at BGU.
Wahiba is extensively involved in mathematics outreach projects at BGU. The latest project called New Horizons was successfully launched and delivered to schools in the Lincolnshire area with a focus of raising students’ aspirations to study mathematics at university.
