    While studying a History course at BGU, you will explore a range of fascinating topics spanning a number of historical eras, in a variety of local, national and global contexts; from pirates in the early modern Atlantic World to civil rights campaigners in the 1960s. As well as learning about the people in the past on this undergraduate degree, you will investigate how people today engage with history and consider how the past can be brought alive.   3. Theology & Religious Studies
    Our Theology & Religious Studies Master's course will take you on a journey from the religious worlds of the great Western traditions to the mystical world of the ancient East. It will cover the burning contemporary issues that surround Religious Studies today and delve into life’s great questions. You will be able to explore the ideas and curiosity that have gripped the human race from the time we began to decorate the walls of our caves until the time we launched ourselves beyond our stratosphere and into outer space.
  4. English Language & Teaching
    Our English Language and Teaching programme immerses you in the fascinating study of English, from how it developed from humble origins to the global language with all its variations that we use today, to how it is learned by children as a first language or by learners of English as a second or further language - and much more. You will explore questions about language structures and language use in society, language disorders, and language acquisition and you will learn practical methods - and get hands-on experience - of how to teach it. Crucially, you will develop skills and knowledge to help you gain employment or pursue further studies for work or research in linguistics, education, and language teaching, and a range of other relevant fields.

    Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people? Our innovative Foundation Degree programme in Child Education is tailored to individuals working in primary, secondary, and further education (FE) institutions, who are keen on advancing their careers while maintaining their current roles. This programme offers a unique blend of practical experience and on-campus learning, designed to accommodate your work or volunteer commitments.
  6. Education in Practice
    Are you ready to take the next step in your educational journey? The BA (Hons) Education in Practice programme is the perfect opportunity for individuals who have already completed BGU's Foundation Degree Education in Practice, as well as those with similar qualifications from BGU and other institutions. This programme allows you to work or volunteer for a minimum of two days per week in an education setting while working towards a Bachelor's Degree.
  7. Education Studies and TESOL
    The BA (Hons) Education Studies and TESOL is a brand-new course for 2023/24 at BGU, Lincoln and combines modules from our Education and English Language and Teaching programmes.
  8. FdA Education in Practice (Grantham)
    Have you ever thought about working towards a degree, but decided against it as you are already in employment or volunteering and don’t want to give that up? Our FdA Education in Practice course is designed for you if you are working and supporting children in primary, secondary, special schools or learners in a further education college. Please note that this course is taught at Grantham College.
  9. International Education
    The MA International Education is an exciting and newly developed distance-learning programme, suitable for educators from a variety of settings around the world, including primary and secondary schools, vocational colleges, universities, privately-owned education providers and the non-profit sector. It is specifically designed for practitioners and leaders who are wanting to develop their practice or seeking an opportunity to further their career.
