Paid roles in CELT (Centre for Enhancement in Learning and Teaching)

Students meet-up weekly to work together on Digital Change Agent projects. Students generally work 3-4 hours per week, with most of this work completed on Wednesday afternoons.

The types of project vary considerably but all have some form of digital element. Examples of the type of work performed are:

  • Creation of a support tool to review DSA approved software
  • Managing a competition for the naming of the BGU Carers newsletter
  • Supporting staff with academic research
  • Supporting CELT events
  • Creating resources and much, much more.

This role can be done totally flexibly to fit around your studies and commitments outside of University. It would suit a well-motivated student, who can work under their own initiative, to create and run projects to improve the student experience at BGU. The role requires working closely with Bishop Grosseteste Students Union (BGSU) and can be done in conjunction with their volunteering roles. Students generally work 3-4 hours per week, with most of this work completed independently.

The types of project vary considerably and there is some expectation that the right candidate will want to come up with their own projects. Examples of the type of work performed are:

  • The creation of videos for an Office for Students project on mental health (in conjunction with the University of Lincoln)
  • Development of questionnaires on the International Student Experience
  • Supporting Carers’ Cafés and development of a Carers’ Passport
  • Running events for student parents (with their children) in conjunction with the library
  • Supporting CELT events and encouraging student participation
