Remembering 2020 at BGU - August: Happy, Employable Graduates

While 2020 has been a far from normal year at BGU, we’ve still been able to celebrate a wide range of successes and achievements from across our learning community.

To mark the end of the year we’re picking out our favourite stories from each month to share with you.

August

August was an exciting month for BGU as the University received a number of impressive accolades. The Graduate Outcomes (GO) survey saw BGU ranked 3rd in the UK for employability when compared to non-specialist universities. A staggering 91% of BGU graduates are in employment or further study 15 months after graduation.

This success followed the release of the year’s National Student Survey (NSS) results and BGU is pleased to report a continued rise in the satisfaction levels from this year’s graduating undergraduate students.

High satisfaction was found across the entire student experience including learning, teaching and academic support; leading to an 85% satisfaction rate. This places BGU above the sector average and one of the top 40 universities in the country for student satisfaction.

Creating an environment where students feel that they can make their voices heard and be an active part of developing their university experience is a key element of our drive for excellence.

Alongside these fantastic achievements the University was also delighted to receive a prestigious Silver Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) award from the Ministry of Defence. The ERS Awards recognise employers who have actively demonstrated their support for the Armed Forces community through implementing practical policies in the workplace.
