We are pleased to announce that the contract for the Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy has been renewed for another year.

The Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy (GLSEA) has been supporting local organisations that operate in the social economy sector since 2021 by offering a range of online and face to face events including workshops, networking opportunities and co-hosting Funders Fairs.

Supported by the UK government via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, this programme has been renewed for 2025/26 and has been refreshed to deliver an even better provision for local organisations that have a social or environmental purpose. The new programme was launched at an event held at Bishop Grosseteste University on Monday 19th May and all local voluntary, charitable, faith and social enterprise organisations were welcome to attend to find out more about what is in store, and to enrol on the new programme.

The GLSEA offers a blend of sessions, including practical and academic online masterclasses, delivered by a range of academics from Bishop Grosseteste University. These will include sessions on organisational development as well as opportunities for professional development in a range of subjects relevant to the sector, including risk management, bid writing, autism, sleep, and loneliness and Isolation.

In addition, a range of face-to-face social networking sessions will be held around the county, including a Funders Fair in conjunction with VCS. The current range of sessions were unveiled at the launch event in May!

Sessions are aimed at eligible charities, community groups, social enterprises and businesses with a clear social or environmental mission. They are free to attend, however organisations must be registered with the GLSEA programme – enrolment forms can be completed here.

Newly appointed lead for the GLSEA project and Project Manager at LORIC, Kay Purle, said: “This year’s programme aims to build on the success of previous years by offering a unique opportunity for VCFSE organisations within Greater Lincolnshire to access the wealth of academic knowledge and expertise held within the university in areas of business, humanities and social sciences.

"Our aim is to provide a mechanism to exchange the research and expertise of our academics with the social economy sector, to provide cutting edge professional and personal development opportunities.”

This programme is available to organisations based in all districts of Greater Lincolnshire, including:

  • City of Lincoln,
  • North Kesteven
  • South Kesteven
  • East Lindsey
  • Boston
  • South Holland
  • West Lindsey
  • North Lincolnshire
  • North East Lincolnshire
