  1. Sean Ingoldsby
    Sean Ingoldsby has extensive experience of teaching in early years and primary school settings, and in tertiary education both in the UK and overseas. Over the course of his career, he has taken on a wide range of coordination and leadership roles including early years coordinator and primary SENCO positions and more recently, on a variety of undergraduate teacher training programmes specialising in, Early Childhood Education, Educational Technology and TESOL, each of which is leveraged in his teaching on the BA Education Studies programme. Sean currently leads modules on inclusion and diversity, the impact of context in the learning process, and of diverse perspectives on education on both national and global policy and practice, and educational research. His research interests include the impact of context on learning, embodied cognition and educational technology.
  2. Kimberley Hudspeth
    Kimberley Bishop Grosseteste University in September 2022 as a Lecturer in Psychology. Previously, she has been working to complete her PhD at Lancaster University and working as an Assistant Dean, where she also completed her BSc in Psychology (2017) and MSc in the Psychology of Advertising (2018). Kimberley's PhD research (submission March 2023) is an analysis of infant joint attention within the triadic interaction framework, which is funded by a Leverhulme Trust linked scholarship from the Lancaster University Department of Psychology. She is examining the differences within these interactions as a result of touchscreen tablets or traditional toys being the object of attention. Modern literature on screen time fails to account for the increasingly early ages at which infants are accessing screen media, and new contributions from sustained attention research challenge our understanding of joint attention. Currently Kimberley teach on Foundations in Health and Clinical Skills, Social and Lifespan Psychology, Psychology of the Arts in Communities, and Psychological Skills in Professional and Academic Practice. She is also support first year psychology students as year tutor.
  3. Dr Lianxin (Megan) Li
    Dr. Megan Li is a Lecturer in TESOL and Linguistics with a strong interdisciplinary background in language education and applied linguistics. Her affiliation with Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) began in 2021 as a guest speaker, where she delivered sessions on research methodology to MA students. From 2021 to 2024, she served as an Associate Lecturer in TESOL and Linguistics, contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She has taught across the BA English Language and Teaching and the MA Education with TESOL programmes, with a focus on modules such as First Language Acquisition, Second Language Acquisition, English for Academic Purposes, the psychology of language learning and TESOL in Practice. In addition, she was also appointed as a dissertation supervisor and assessment feedback coordinator for the MA Education programme in 2024 at the University of Sheffield. Dr. Li holds a BA in English Education Studies from China and completed her MA in TESOL with Education at BGU in 2019. She was awarded her PhD in 2025 by the University of Leicester. Her doctoral research examined learner motivation and psychological needs satisfaction in the context of learning languages other than English (LOTE) in Chinese universities, drawing on Self-Determination Theory as a central theoretical framework. Her research interests lie in LOTE teaching and learning, motivation in language education, individual learner differences, positive psychology in second language acquisition, and English for Academic Purposes. She is particularly interested in how psychological and cognitive factors influence motivation in language learning in diverse educational contexts.
  4. Dr Lucinda Newns
    Lecturer in English Lucinda Newns is a Lecturer in English specialising in postcolonial and environmental literature. She joined BGU in 2023 after previous positions at King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London and the University of Manchester. She has also held a research fellowship at the Education University of Hong Kong (2020-2021). She was awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship to complete her PhD at London Metropolitan University and holds an MA from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and a BA from New York University. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
  5. Dr Duncan Mercieca
    Dr Duncan Mercieca lectures in Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion at BGU. His research draws upon post-structural philosophers to think through educational issues, in particular, those related to diversity and otherness; inclusion and disability; and critiquing education research and its methods. Duncan also works in a special school in Scotland.
