BG Futures has welcomed Beccy Roberts Music Therapy into the Social Economy Hub. Beccy is offering small Music Therapy services to individual adult clients and has been qualified for almost 20 years, as an HCPC Registered Music Therapist. Recently Beccy has returned to private practise after a long period working for the NHS with adults in a forensic mental health setting.

Beccy explains:

"Music Therapy is a diverse clinical intervention, in which the therapist and client(s) journey through a unique musical relationship to work towards change, growth and new insights. I am keen to diversify my clinical therapeutic practice with a broader socially inclusive remit. I would like to start some interventions that have an outcome of social change and improved wellbeing, primarily through the medium of music, but I am open to new collaborations and ideas."

Why choose BG Futures?

"I really liked the atmosphere, office space and ethos of BG Futures as a socially inclusive hub. Sarah and the team at BG Futures were welcoming, adaptable, and supportive in all aspects of setting up some private practise from the Hub. I like the fact that the hub is vibrant and welcoming in a non-clinical setting, with great accessibility and parking."

Enterprise Development Manager Sarah Moseley added: "Our virtual plus tenancy option was the perfect fit for Beccy as she also works in other settings across the week. This tenancy option enables Beccy to have a private office and car parking space for herself and one client on a designated day each week. We understand that as it is early days for Beccy delivering sessions at BG Futures, that the flexibility of our tenancy contracts is an important feature for her as a start-up.

"We were delighted that Beccy chose BG Futures especially as she has University Lecturing experience gained at a regional Music Therapy MA training course and is very keen to support our students. This support will range from career talks, taster sessions, placement opportunities and small collaborations with community-based music projects."

What is next for Beccy Roberts Music Therapy?

"I am currently offering individual sessions for adult clients with mental health needs and am open for further referrals. I am starting to investigate potential funding applications and suitable collaborations in the Lincoln area."
