Young people in this position often have no contact at all with their family and have removed themselves from a dysfunctional situation.
Stand Alone believes that students who are estranged from their families, who are studying without the support or approval of a family network should not be held back from succeeding in Higher Education.
Bishop Grosseteste University has made a pledge to Stand Alone, which means we are an institution who is committed to supporting estranged students.
Support from Student Advice
Our team can assist estranged students maximise the student finance available to them, as well as provide additional funding through our Stand Alone Bursary, and make their hardship fund applications a priority.
