  1. Professional Practice in Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) (Grantham)
    Our FdA Professional Practice in Special Educational Needs and Disability is designed for people already working in this field, who want to develop their careers. If you are working or regularly volunteering in a school, nursery, residential care or another professional setting, supporting children, young people or adults with special educational needs and disabilities, this programme will enable you to study for a Foundation Degree whilst continuing the work role you love. This course is typically taught, one afternoon/evening session per week at Grantham College, the course combines college-based learning with your ongoing professional practice and some independent study. You will increase your knowledge and understanding, and develop academic skills to enhance you career and/or move on to higher study. Please note that this course is taught at Grantham College.
  2. Special Educational Needs, Disability & Inclusion (SENDI) and Theology, Philosophy & Ethics
    Throughout the study of Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion (SENDI) you will examine theoretical arguments in relation to opportunities and challenges for different groups in society. The course offers placements where you can engage with practice and develop an understanding of different categories of need including; cognition & learning, social, emotional and mental health, sensory and communication needs. The course covers the broad spectrum to focus upon specific and more complex needs. On this degree will challenge your own beliefs and values, as well as those of others, and become an advocate for change.

    The BA (Hons) Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion (SENDI) and Sociology joint degree programme challenges norms and assumptions surrounding context and categorisation of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The programme provides you with the opportunity to engage in study that offers a balanced range of modules from both disciplines and allows for the interconnections in concepts to be explored.

  6. Primary Teaching Studies with QTS
    Are you a teaching assistant currently working in a primary school, or working in an equivalent educational setting? If you’ve recently completed a relevant Foundation Degree and are looking to pursue a career in primary teaching, then this course could be the perfect next step for you. The course is a stimulating and challenging degree at honours level, developing the qualities required in 21st century teachers. This course will be delivered via blended learning where students will be taught remotely for the equivalent of 1 day per week. Roughly one day each half term, students will attend campus for sessions, and the remainder of the taught content will be delivered through a mix of synchronous and asynchronous sessions to allow students flexibility. Some placements may take place in the school in which students are working as a TA.

Our BA (Hons) work-based degree programme is the perfect opportunity for individuals who have already completed a suitable Foundation Degree or Higher Education Diploma in Early Childhood. This programme seamlessly blends practice-based learning with campus-based teaching sessions that take place once a week, ensuring you can maintain your current work or volunteer commitments.

Our FdA Primary Teaching Studies course is designed for you if you are a TA who want to continue working while beginning a route into Teacher Training.

    The BA (Hons) Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion (SENDI) and Sport joint programme provides you as a student with opportunities to study a balanced range of modules from both disciplines. In undertaking a joint programme, you develop in-depth knowledge and understanding which reflects your passion and interests in both subjects.

    The BA (Hons) Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion (SENDI) & Early Childhood Studies joint programme strongly supports an understanding of the crucial 0-8 stage of child development through a focus on individual needs and the broader sociocultural context of young children and their families. This is particularly significant in the light of the current government agenda to reduce child inequalities; prioritising prevention and early intervention; and building and strengthening local and cross sector services.
