First Steps Programme
The First Steps Programme at Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) is designed to engage and inspire students in Year 9 to 11, helping them explore the possibilities of higher education.
Through a combination of on-school and on-campus visits, taster days and outreach sessions, we aim to raise aspirations and provide students from disadvantaged backgrounds with the tools and confidence to consider university as part of their future
- Develop study skills and explore future pathways.
- Experience university life first-hand.
- Hear from current students about their experiences.
- Completely Free – Available to schools across Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.
The First Steps Programme is a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, gain insight into higher education, and start thinking about their academic and career goals.
Next Steps Programme
The Next Steps is a Widening Participation programme tailored for Year 12 students, providing the guidance and support needed to transition into higher education.
Through taster days, study skills workshops, and expert advice, this programme equips students with the knowledge and confidence to take the next step in their academic journey.
