IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR INTERVIEW:

Please carefully read the articles Changing Behaviour by Tom Bennett and No Penalties? by Steven McNichol before attending your interview. This will form the basis of your debate/interview.

Secondly, you should ensure you are up to date on current issues in education. You can use the internet (for example: https://www.tes.com/news/hub/primary, https://schoolsweek.co.uk/), books and/or academic articles. You might also think about how these relate to any experience you have working with children, but the interviewers are all aware that you may not have had opportunity to gain experience in schools so if you have no experience, this will not count against you.

IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR INTERVIEW:

Please carefully read the articles Changing Behaviour by Tom Bennett and No Penalties? By Steven McNichol before attending your interview. This will form the basis of your debate/interview.

You will also need to choose a children’s book to discuss on the day of your interview. We will be asking you to talk to others in the group about how you might use this book to plan learning using this book as a theme. A script/presentation about your book will be very unhelpful as it will not allow us to see how you interact with others’ ideas so you should not prepare anything in detail for this, but do perhaps have a think in advance about the sort of learning that would link well to your chosen book.

Finally, you should also ensure you are up to date on current issues in education. You can use the internet (for example: https://www.tes.com/news/hub/primary, https://schoolsweek.co.uk/), books and/or academic articles.
