Our collections

Our Library owns or subscribes to a vast number of resources, all carefully chosen to support your studies, and all free to access. Included are over 140,000 physical resources, as well as hundreds of thousands of online resources such as journal articles, ebooks and other documents, and over 70 databases.

WorldCat, BGU’s Library catalogue, allows you to search for physical and online resources at the same time, whilst our A-Z Databases site provides links to and information about the many Library databases you can access.

Special collections

The Teaching Resources Collection (TRC)
A fantastic space designed for trainee teachers, students intending to work (or already working) in educational settings, and students of children’s literature. The TRC houses around 24,000 resources including reading schemes, resource packs, children’s books, Storysacks®, puppets, DVDs and games. To promote this collection the 'Literature and Literacies (LiLi) Research Unit publish a children’s literature newsletter called The Four Corners.

The Lincolnshire Collection
A collection of over 4,000 books on Lincolnshire history, archaeology, flora and fauna, geology, trade and industry, language, heritage and architecture, including a significant number of items donated by the Society for Lincolnshire History and Archaeology.

The Lincoln Mystery Plays Archive, incorporating the Keith Ramsey Collection
Ephemera from performances of the modern Lincoln Mystery Plays (1969 to the present) incorporating photographs, press releases, reviews, correspondence, programmes, scripts, posters and Keith Ramsay’s personal scrapbooks. To find out more about this Archive please click here.

The Hunt Collection
Three separate sets of materials relating to the First and Second World Wars, including an original printed copy of The Honour Roll of the British Civilian War Dead, 1939-45.
