Andrew Tofts
Andrew Tofts joined BGU in 2014 with extensive experience of working within the Further Education and Skills sector; he has been practising as a Teacher Educator since 2000. Andrew also has considerable experience of educational quality assurance, having previously worked in an appropriate role within the University, as an Ofsted inspector as well as a verifier for one of the country’s leading awarding bodies.
Working within the School of Teacher Development, Andrew is the Programme Leader for Further Education (FE) Initial Teacher Education (ITE), with responsibilities for managing and delivering the Certificate in Education, Training and Skills/Professional Graduate Diploma in Education, Training and Skills programmes at BGU. In addition, he is the link tutor for the same programmes being delivered through our partners at Lincoln College and New College Stamford.
Andrew is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Andrew’s MA research interests included the initial assessment and support for hidden disabilities; teaching and learning theories relating to FE teaching; and the use of learning styles in education and training.
