The MOVE Project team at Bishop Grosseteste University were delighted to celebrate the achievements of three of their participants enrolled on the programme this week.
After receiving bespoke careers guidance from Lauren West, one of the project’s qualified careers advisers, all three participants have gone on to pursue and achieve a range of qualifications relevant to their career goals.
Kylie achieved a Level 2 qualification in Food Hygiene, as she is considering a career in the food industry. Maria achieved two Level 2 qualifications in Food Hygiene and Customer Service, because of her ambitions to set up her own confectionary business. Goodness has achieved numerous qualifications during her time with MOVE, but most recently achieved a Level 2 Childcare qualification and is pursuing a career in childcare working with children with SEND.
Maria Jeffries, participant on the MOVE Project at BGU said about their recent achievements:
“MOVE has played a massive part in my learning, and I can’t thank the team enough. Without all Lauren’s help, I don’t really know what I would be doing now. Thank you. “
Lauren West, Careers and Employability Adviser on the MOVE Project at BGU said:
“I am incredibly proud of everything that MOVE participants have achieved over the past year, particularly given the challenges presented by the pandemic. It is great to have the opportunity to support individuals to identify and fulfil their ambitions and to empower people to overcome barriers. I am looking forward to continuing to support people in Greater Lincolnshire with their transitions into work and learning. “
MOVE at Bishop Grosseteste University is part of The Greater Lincolnshire MOVE Project and is now in its 6th year. MOVE is a National Lottery and EU funded programme which seeks to help people who are unemployed or economically inactive back into employment and learning.
The project is designed for anyone aged 16 and over in the Greater Lincolnshire area eligible to live and work in the UK but currently unemployed or out of paid work. Here at BGU we are offering ongoing 1:1 support to explore career and learning goals and help those struggling to overcome issues that are preventing them from moving forward.
The project is due to end in December 2022.
