We are delighted to invite 2023 graduands to attend graduation on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 July 2023. Graduating in the magnificent surroundings of Lincoln Cathedral is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we know you’ll want to be a part of it.
We’ll make sure you get to celebrate in style with hundreds of other BGU students, members of staff and, of course, your family and friends. Ceremonies will take place on both days at 10:15am and 02:30pm along with celebrations on campus throughout the day. Please visit our Graduation 2023 page for further details about what to expect on your graduation day.
The ceremony you attend depends on which course you have studied. Further information on this is typically released in February. We look forward to seeing you and hope you have an excellent Graduation day!
*Your invitation is subject to successful completion of your programme and will be confirmed once your final degree classification has been ratified by the Board of Examiners and it is confirmed that you have completed your degree successfully.

Ceremony and Tickets for the graduands of 2023
Guest tickets for the ceremonies in the Cathedral are £20. Tickets include a glass of Prosecco or soft option of your choice for you and your ticket paying guests. This will be available on campus at BGU from 11:00am until 06:00pm. All graduands will receive their own ticket free of charge and payment will only need to be made for guests.
Due to the limited number of seats available in the Cathedral, we are only able to initially offer each student three guest tickets. Registration to attend and book tickets commences on Monday 3rd April 2023 and closes on Friday 19th May 2023.
The design of the Cathedral may mean that you are not able to see all proceedings at all times from where you are sitting. To mitigate against this impact, large visual screens are placed in the Cathedral to allow guests a clear view, even from the back of the Nave. It is considered that the ceremony is not suitable for young children. If you are bringing children to the ceremony, we politely ask that you try to keep them quiet and seating throughout the ceremony, in respect of this special day.
Please note: Due to Health and Safety regulations, children over 12 months old will require their own ticket and will not be able to sit on laps. The graduation ceremony will last approximately one hour.
In addition to the ceremonies in the Cathedral, there will be a link on the BGU Graduation Webpage to the livestream, so that ceremonies can be viewed online all over the world!
Additional Tickets
Availability of additional tickets cannot be guaranteed or confirmed until all registrations have been processed once ticket sales close on Friday 19th May 2023. You will receive an email to your BGU account on Monday 22 May 2023 with details of availability of additional tickets and how you can register for these. The ticketing system for Additional Tickets will go live on Wednesday 24th May 2023. Subject to availability, this system will issue available tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. You will not be able to apply for additional tickets unless you have already registered.
Please note: All tickets will be included in your information packs and these will be posted to your home address during the second week of July. There is no requirement for graduands or their guests to print anything off.
