Incoming Students
BGU, like all universities in the UK and across Europe, is continuing to make positive preparations for the new academic year, including the provision of welcoming incoming students to BGU through the Erasmus+ mobility programme. Therefore, BGU is currently accepting nominations from its partner universities for students wishing to join us in semester 1, 2020/21 (autumn term) and semester 2, 2020/21 (spring term). The deadline for semester 1 nominations is 29 May 2020. The deadline for semester 2 nominations is 27 November 2020.
Students accepted onto the Erasmus+ mobility programme in 2020/21 are advised that such an acceptance is dependent on the revision to travel restrictions currently in place due to the COVID-19 outbreak and to any necessary adjustments to the new academic year imposed by Bishop Grosseteste University. Bishop Grosseteste University advises all students accepted onto an Erasmus+ mobility programme to have appropriate travel insurance in place prior to making any travel and accommodation purchases (advice which applies to all Erasmus mobilities, irrespective of global pandemics).
Nominations will need to be received from your home institution.
As part of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, the UK no longer associates with the Erasmus+ programme.
However, under the terms of existing 2014-2020 Erasmus+ funding agreements, BGU will be able to host incoming Erasmus+ students for mobility for a further year during the 2021/22 academic year, with the agreement of its partner institutions.
Therefore, BGU is currently accepting nominations from its partner universities for students wishing to join us in semester 1, 2021/22 (autumn term) and semester 2, 2021/22 (spring term). The deadline for semester 1 nominations is 28 May 2021. The deadline for semester 2 nominations is 19 November 2021. Nominations will need to be received from your home institution.
Students accepted onto the Erasmus+ mobility programme in 2021/22 are advised that such an acceptance is managed in conjunction with the ongoing COVID-19 rules and restrictions relevant to England and the countries of home institutions. Bishop Grosseteste University advises all students accepted onto an Erasmus+ mobility programme to have appropriate travel insurance in place prior to making any travel and accommodation purchases (advice which applies to all Erasmus mobilities, irrespective of global pandemics).

BGU is aware that some funding is available to Erasmus+ programme countries for mobility to partner countries (like the UK) through the new Erasmus+ 2021 programme. Bishop Grosseteste University is working with its partners across Europe to consider its position on hosting incoming students after the 2021/22 academic year.
